Don't have a clue on how to uninstall if I ever needed to do that. As a newbie, I can't believe I actually got the Epson linux app installed as the command line process was quite convoluted.

Truth be told, I needed to install the Epson IMAGE SCAN app just so VUESCAN would recognize my scanner.

My Canon Scanner LIDE 600F was completely incompatible with Linux (thanks Canon).

Luckily, EPSON provided a 'bare bones" IMAGE SCAN application for Linux, otherwise my All-in-One XP-430 would not be recognized nor function in Linux. I have no association or affiliation with VUESCAN or its company.

I have passion for good scanner software and was terribly disappointed with all Linux options until I stumbled upon VUESCAN. I have no problems shelling out the shekels for those programs as long as I'm actually buying it and can use it for life rather than essentially just renting it. Granted, if I have a choice between a free program that can do what and a paid program can do or, at the very least, a free one that can do all that I need or want, heck yeah, I'm going with the freebie (I may be crazy as a fruitcake-heck, I am one-but I'm not stupid)! However, you usually only get what you pay for and there are times when free programs just don't get the job done that paid programs can do. One thing I have noticed about many people here is an obsession with the Free part of FOSS (Free Open Source Software). +1 it seems that there are very few vuescan users on the forum.
